Throughout our history, our residents have made a commitment to give back to the local community in the Seattle, WA area. Community-minded individuals on campus serve as volunteers in Seattle and beyond. Here’s a sampling of our efforts:
- PB&J Project for the Homeless
Preparing peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and assembling 100 lunches for the homeless.
- Stitches from the Heart
Crocheting and knitting baby blankets, sweaters and caps to benefit charities for women.
- ESL Classes
Teaching English as a second language to staff.
- Antique Kids
Line dancing group performing at community events and county fairs.
- Art Commission
Providing a space for community art exhibits in the campus Lighthouse Gallery and arranging exhibitions.
- Disaster Team
Emergency preparedness plan and regular practice drills that help Mercer Island Public Safety enhance preparedness training.
- Diversity Awareness Partners
Outreach to multi-ethnic churches and surrounding communities.
